Forest History Ontario Annual Meeting Recap
The Zoom meeting was attended by almost 40 members and guests and included colleagues from the Alberta Forest History Association and the Quebec Forest History Society...thank you and merci for joining us. Apart from the regular business and reports Dr. Mark Kuhlberg provided a personal and touching tribute to Ken Armson whose pioneering work in Ontario's forest sector is a legacy that we all benefit from. We also welcomed new Board Member, John Pineau soon to be retired Executive Director of the Ontario Woodlot Association and well known and widely respected forestry professional. Welcome John. Terry Schwan also confirmed that the next in our series of forest history field tours will be held in Dufferin County on June 13th. Stay tuned.
After the business session we were treated to an excellent presentation by two young student researchers working for Mark Kuhlberg at Laurentian University. They provided an early look at their work in drafting The Tembec Story. It was very well researched and presented with excellent detail and insightful observations. This part of our meeting was recorded and can be seen by opening the link below. Work continues on researching and assembling the manuscript and if all goes as planned could be at the printers in 2026.
Thank you all to those that joined our meeting and encourage all to renew their memberships for 2025.
